This is so ridiculous. I was listening to this song and at first I thought — OH GOD REICHENBACH JOHN LEAVING KEYS UNDER THE MAT FOR SHERLOCK. But then I figured that no, that wouldn’t work that well —

And then I thought, hey, this would work for Lestrade/Mycroft!!!!!

My reaction to this thought is as follows:

/gross sobbing./

Because Mycroft has a dangerous, dangerous job, and lives a dangerous, dangerous life. And Lestrade does too, being in law enforcement and everything — but Mycroft’s is full of secrecy and just… Wow. Really, so much shit could happen to Mycroft, considering who he is — and if he died or disappeared, Lestrade wouldn’t be told the full story.

It’d possibly be a security risk, so Lestrade would end up having to swallow down this bullshit excuse about a plane crash or something and he wouldn’t know. He wouldn’t be allowed to. Because what if it had something to do with Mycroft’s job? What if Mycroft was doing something top secret that no one could know about? 

There are just so many things Mycroft has to keep hidden from Lestrade — not because he wants to, but because it’s safer for everyone — and Lestrade definitely accepts that, because seriously, he’s not as young and rash as he used to be and he understands. 

But seriously just… sad feels. Sad feels.
